Saints gets in the last punch to defeat the Patriots

Watching Friday's match up between Saints and Patrick Henry was like watching two boxers standing toe to toe trading punches.  Neither team could sustain any momentum in the first quarter.  Saints scored first on a 5 yard TD run by Cometa in the second quarter, only to have Henry quickly put up seven of their own.  This was to become the theme for the night.  Every time Saints would score a TD or kick a field goal, the Patriots would answer back with one of their own.  It was one of those games where the last team to score was bound to be the winner.  With time running out and Saints leading by seven the Patriots marched down the field to the Saints 5 yard line.  On third and goal, Henry's QB tried to connect with his receiver  in the corner of the end zone.  Saints, delivering the knockout punch, sealed the victory when Mark McRoskey intercepted the ball.  It was a big night both offensively an defensively for Saintsmen.  Sophomore Evan Crower was 35 of 55 for 360 yards passing.  According to Coach Ralph, this sets a new Saints record for number of completions in a game.  Johnny Jackson eclipsed the 1000 yard mark in return yardage for the season...also a new school record.  The offense has amassed 3825 total yards this season (500 more than last season - including the playoffs).  Andrew Noonan set a new school record for career sacs with 15 (10 this season).  Saints ends the regular season with a 6 - 4 record, 2 - 3 in league play.

Final score - Saints 31, Henry 24
