Saints fans, hoping for a treat were tricked with a loss on Halloween night, 23 - 19

The Saints defense started out strong in the first half by holding the Mira Mesa Marauders to a single field goal.  At the half, Saints lead 13 - 3 and was set to receive the second half kickoff.  Not wanting to kick to the Saints return phenom, Johnny Jackson, they kicked the ball high and short.  Caught off guard, Saints was unable to cover the kick.  The Marauders recovered the ball deep in Saints territory and scored on a quick drive to pull within three.   In the fourth quarter the two teams traded the lead several times.  Trailing by four and with just over two minutes left in the game, Saints put together a long drive marching deep into Mira Mesa's end of the field.  QB Evan Crower (23 of 48 for 197 yards) threw deep to Dana Barbaro at the two yard line.  Barbaro and the defensive back both jumped high for the pass and the DB wrestled the ball away for the interception, ending any chance of a Saints win.
